Mets fans have reasons to watch NLCS

Quote:
PHILADELPHIA -- The Mets brought New York -- and all their fans -- to the edge of their seats, and to the edge of the playoffs in a regular-season run that came tantalizingly close. It was the kind of thrilling race to the wire that still exists for the four teams that remain in the hunt for the World Series.

And one of those teams -- the Phillies -- are intimately familiar with the Mets, and vice versa. Just because these two clubs aren't kissin' cousins doesn't mean the Mets, and really, New Yorkers, can't appreciate what the Phillies have done. They can appreciate it just as much as Royals fans, Mariners fans or Padres fans can. At the end of the day, it's baseball.
Mets fans can appreciate what Philly has done

I can appreciate what the Phillies have done for sure. I just with that the Mets had not choked the past three seasons.

Re: Mets fans have reasons to watch NLCS

world series belonged to the mets this year.
These guys just can't hold on to a lead. Very disappointing.
Now they want to charge an arm and a leg to get into Citi Field for a team that does nothing but CHOKE CHOKE CHOKE.

Thumbs down Re: Mets fans have reasons to watch NLCS

That is just insane. And if the economy continues to remain flat or go further south, where do they expect people to get the money from to go to a game?? I pay $38 for my Phillies tickets and I am on the lower level down the 3rd baseline. A little pricey but still manageable.

They have no intention for fans to go to the games. Its all corporate now. Both stadiums (Yankees & Mets) dropped from at or around 55k to 45k each. Hence creating a greater demand, justifying greater ticket prices.

Its really all BS.

True it is all BS. I won't miss Shea though. It was quirky (planes flying over head, a million ramps and escalators) but if you sat upstairs it felt like you were a mile away from the action.

Re: Mets fans have reasons to watch NLCS

part of shea's beauty was the opposing pitchers weren't used to the low flying planes. (but its a dump. Knocker down!)

And if you stood up in the nose bleeds, reach for the sky, you could touch the belly of a plane. lol.

Yes. Remember sitting in top row behind home plate for Mutts vs Bucs in 1988. Thought a plane was literally going to take me head off once. Stadium was just shaking like an earthquake.
