New York Mets Home/Road #s

The Mets have a good record on the road and at home so the following doesn't seem to effect them to the point of concern. However, take a look...(thanks to Metsblog.com for the #s).

Carlos Delgado
Shea: 125 ABs, .216 BA
Road: 131 ABs, .321 BA

Carlos Beltran
Shea: 108 ABs, .213 BA
Road: 109 ABs, .358 BA

David Wright
Shea: 132 ABs, .326 BA
Road: 133 ABs, .346 BA

Just goes to show you how good a hitter Wright is in just his 3rd full season play. Beltran and Delgado have been good don't get me wrong but they just have to focus on doing the same at home.

Re: New York Mets Home/Road #s

Thanks for sharing those insightful statistics with us, EmpireWF.

I guess Mets fan should watch them on the road, instead of at home. But what is the fun if Mr. Met can't dance around the field between innings? I think it is an even split considering Mr. Met!

Here is my effort of adding some statistics:

Mets at Home:20-13
Mets on the Road:23-12

Those are pretty close. What can I say, the Mets are just incredible these days!

now they are playing the Reds who's road record is better than the Mets Home record.

BUT, if they win the next 3 games they will have the better home vs. the Reds road record.

Cool Re: New York Mets Home/Road #s

Shea is a terrible hitters park. It would help to see what some opposing batters do in Shea vs. other parks. Although it is a smaller sample, there are probably some NL East players who have a lot of at-bats at Shea.

Re: New York Mets Home/Road #s

Pat Burrell is just an incredible athlete when he participates in a game against the New York Mets. So far this season against the Mets, Burrell composed an ERA well over .350 with 4 homeruns and 8 RBIs in only 27 mere at-bats. But in only 10 at-bats in Shea Stadium, he collected 3 RBIs and one homer giving him an ERA just at .400.

For the Cincinatti Reds, they lead the Major League Baseball in homeruns. Their 103 homeruns to date, goes along with their top third RBI-total compared to the rest of the teams in the National League. They aren't such a bad club (batting-wise) after all.
