Mets have winning streak snapped

The New York Mets had won 10 games in a row before finally losing to the Reds, 5-2, last night.

According to the Associated Press, the Mets’ run "ended one win shy of the franchise record... The 10 straight victories put them back in contention in the NL East. Their first loss in exactly two weeks dropped them one game behind Philadelphia in the division." So what was the catalyst that has this team winning again? Was it the Randolph firing?
