| Re: Pedro Martinez Injured Pedro's not done, it was a freak thing IMO. He'll be back and will help the team. And once again, anyone who says it was a bad signing, HA! Anyway, the Mets placed Pedro on the 15-day DL and called up RHP Nelson Figueroa to take his spot. One report says they expect Pedro to be out between 4-6 weeks. El Duque should be back within the next 2-3 weeks. |

| Re: Pedro Martinez Injured Pedro has given them 160 innings total for the past two seasons. he is already out for 4-6 weeks. he was getting lit up when he got hurt. And if you think he is going to come back good as new, then.... At the time it wasn't a bad signing but do you actually think he has helped them?

| Re: Pedro Martinez Injured Quote:
When he was injured, the Mets were down by one or two runs (I forgot the exact score) and in the middle of a comeback. Yes, he did get hammered early on, but he did settle down...if that's possible in less than 3 innings. Pedro has definitely helped this ball club since he signed with them. He certainly hasn't given them 200 innings per, but he's still able to give this team a confidence about them. If he's able to stay healthy long enough, he is still an effective pitcher. A hammy injury could be nagging (it's said to be a strain) but at least it's not an elbow/shoulder/etc. injury (knock on wood). He should be able to provide the Mets with at least 150 IP in 08. |
