| David Wright to Milledge: Shut Up Lastings Milledge opened his mouth earlier in the week about the "bad treatment" he received as part of the Mets organization. Mets not happy about ex-Met Milledge's comments -- Newsday.com David Wright and Billy Wagner responded... Wright: "Enough is enough. You're a Washington National now. Don't worry about what happened last year or the year before that. Just go out there and try to help the Nationals win. It makes no sense to bash your former team. He just needs to turn the page and worry about helping the Washington Nationals. Forget about what we're doing over here. Forget about the New York Mets. "The veterans were never mean to him or singled him out. They always tried to teach him. Some of that comes through tough love. I went through it, Jose [Reyes] went through it. All the young guys in the game go through that tough-love period. Some handle it better than others. "Personally, I like Lastings. There were times when he messed up and he knew it and he learned from it. I don't see where this is coming from. I don't know if it's just trying to play that 'bitter traded guy' role. I don't know what he's trying to accomplish by the things that he's saying. "With Lastings, guys took care of him. Guys tried to help him as much as they could. This is coming out of nowhere and it's time to move on." Wagner: "Everyone in the organization babied the heck out of him. We couldn't get on him too much because we were told to lay off of him. It could have been a whole lot worse for him and all we did was try to help him to help us. "When you get a guy like Cliff Floyd, a guy that he could someday take his job, and they're out there helping him, it's awful hard to sit there and say we were bad teammates. This business is hard. He probably shouldn't even have been up in the big leagues. "The way I was brought up was to keep your mouth shut and your ears open." |

| Re: David Wright to Milledge: Shut Up The 'bitter traded guy' role. Wow, did not know that was a role that could be played. But yeah, let it go man, you ain't a Met any more. Go out there, hit, and prove them wrong with the bat. |
