Jose Reyes didn't exactly finish 2007 strong (frankly, nobody in a Mets uniform did) and he was criticized for his happy-go-lucky attitude outside the dugout. From dancing after home runs to slapping high fives with teammates, it was believed by Mets fans that his "antics" brought the Florida Marlins to life in the final series of the year.
Now, Jose Reyes plans to be nothing but a serious baseball player.

Reyes said, "No more handshakes. People kept saying we got teams fired up when we did those handshakes, so now I want to focus more on baseball. Nobody said anything to me, but it’s because of what happened last year. That’s why I’m taking this year more seriously. I’m going to enjoy the game, but I’m not going to do the handshakes with the guys. I don’t want people to talk about that. I just want to play baseball. I want to take care of business on the field."
