The deadline to reach an extension with Johan Santana is 5 PM this evening.

The problem is the length of the deal. Johan's camp wants 7-years awhile the Mets would like it shorter.

Most (ESPN/Mets fans) think it will get done closer to 5.

I think they will not live it down. Though 7 years these days is a long time...look at Zito...didn't he get 7?...and then what?...is he any good any more?

Supposedly they asked for an extra 2 hours and they are also looking at 6 years.
