| Re: New Mets Rotation: Best in NL? No, too many what ifs, i.e. Pedro, Perez, and Hernandez. Maine is a gd #3 and Perez a #4 but if they are counting on Hernandez and Martinez then think it will be a long season. The Dodgers have a better staff I think and the Dbacks is even better. SD has more potential the the Mutts. Peavy and Santana match-up well but after that SD is better. Colorado has some nice young arms. Even the Phils 1-2-3 is as gd as the Mutts. |

Haren and Webb is definitely a great 1-2 punch. Right up there with Santana and Pedro |

Pedro actually looked pretty good once he returned late last season. |

| The Braves rotation is an injury waiting to happen in Hudson and Hampton. Despite Glavine's failure at the end with the Mutts, he is still a gd #4. The only one they can count on is Smoltz. I like Santana and I am sorry to see him come to the NL East... but I think people are deluding themselves if they expect big things from Pedro. When he signed with the Mutts every talking head said the same thing, "First year or two he will be fine, but he will go downhill fast and the Mutts are going to be stuck on the back end of that contract." Well this is year 4 and I predict he does not make 20 starts this year. The Mutts got a great pitcher but it is not enough. |
