When he signed with the Mutts every talking head said the same thing, "First year or two he will be fine, but he will go downhill fast and the Mutts are going to be stuck on the back end of that contract." Well this is year 4 and I predict he does not make 20 starts this year. The Mutts got a great pitcher but it is not enough.
Only time will tell how many starts Pedro will make this year but he has not lost any of his stuff. If anything, his complete repetoire has improved since he can't rely on his fastball anymore.

IMO, Pedro will make at least 25 starts this year.

I agree. Arizona has the best rotation. Mets are 2nd right now.

Well I guess we will have to agree to disagree. If he was still in his 20's I would agree with you. But he is 36, coming off rotar cuff surgery. The issue I have with Pedro is that he was never considered a "big guy". He is 5' 11" and 180lbs soaking wet. So the tourque he generates in his arm and shoulder is tremendous. I just think that at this stage in his career his best days are long behind him... if he was a big guy, like Clemens or Ryan, hell even like Cole Hamels, then I think he could stand the strain on his shoulder, but he is not so that why I see him headed back to the DL at some point in the season.

I completely agree. I think he has done too much damage to his arm over the years. He may be able to go for a few games and be like the Pedro we know, but a whole season, I think, is wishful thinking.
