I've heard a few reports that all point to the same conclusion. Johnny Estrada will NOT be on the Mets roster come opening day. He was acquired simply because the Mets had to get rid of Guillermo Mota.

They are still looking to acquire a catcher. Various names have been mentioned, from Baltimore's Ramon Hernandez to San Francisco's Bengie Molina and Texas' Gerald Laird.

So in addition to starting pitching, the Mets will go into the Winter Meetings next week looking at their catching position.
