Every year the New York Mets hold a Fantasy Camp for fans who wish to live like a baseball star for a week. The Mets hold the camp at their spring training complex in Port St. Lucie, Florida at Tradition Field.

Professionals teach you all about hitting, pitching, base running and fielding alongside other fans and former big league pro's.

The latest camp is for six days and five nights and costs $4,295 per person. Males and females of at least 30 years old are eligible to participate. The only thing you're required to bring yourself is a glove and cleats. The rest of the supplies are handled by the club.

The official Mets fantasy camp includes round-trip airfare from New York or New Jersey, hotel accommodations, transportation, two uniforms, a Mets jacket, daily breakfast and lunch, a locker, daily practice and coaching sessions plus more and other bonuses.

Has anyone ever participated in a MLB fantasy camp? Sounds like it would be a blast.

I went last year and will go again in January. It was the best experience of my life-- and I am a 57 year old woman (there were 115 men, 5 women).

You are treated like a baseball player, you get to be with former Mets players and be managed/coached by them, and it is just a ball! The trainers get alot of visits from the campers, but everyone is wonderful and they make it a fantastic experience. Well worth the money, even though it seems like alot.
