Tom Glavine reportedly has until Friday to decide whether he will vest his 2008 player option to rejoin the Mets or decline it and become a free agent. Sports Illsutrated quoted Glavine as saying, "Most likely, I'll decline it."

SI says Glavine will make a decision on his future in early November. He could retire, return to the Mets (if they want him back) or sign elsewhere. Of course the favorite would be his hometown Atlanta Braves.


I can tell you that the majority of Mets fans are talking as if Glavine is already a Brave and gone.

Glavine said on the radio that he's not excercising his 13 million dollar option with the Mets.
