| Re: Do or Die for NY Mets Well, the Mets lost game one to Florida, 7-4. Oliver Perez had anything but a solid outing, lasting less than four total innings. He hit three batters and lost his control. The Mets were in the ball game, down just 4-3. However, the Marlins fought back with a Treinor (sp?) home run...just his fourth of the year I believe. Now with the Phillies leading by one in the division, they're in control. The Mets MUST! MUST! MUST! MUST! win Saturday and Sunday or else they're not going to play October baseball in 2007. They must lean on the Washington Nationals to take AT LEAST one from the momentous Phillies. That would cause a one-game playoff on Monday in Philly. ![]() Time to man up. |

| Re: Do or Die for NY Mets I think this is what former Flyers head coach Terry Murray referred to as a "choking situation". And I only say that because the Phillies really have no business being where they are. Sure they have played some good ball lately, and even taken 12 of 18 from the Mets this year, but what has ocurred over the last two weeks or so was just more than I could have hoped for. But it isn't over yet. Being a typical Phillies, Flyers, Sixers fan, there is a part of me that is waiting for the Phils to find a way to blow it. I hope they can just win their last two and put the Mets out of this without any drama! |

| Re: Do or Die for NY Mets Sadly, it's possible the Mets playoff hopes could die today. Can't believe it... If the Mets lose today and the Phillies and Padres win...it's all over. If the Mets lose today and the Phillies win but Padres lose...Phillies take the division but the wildcard will be determined tomorrow. Of course, if the Mets win and the Phillies lose...back to a tie. |

Adam Eaton is already pulled from the Phils game. Do you have a decent used car you can trade us for him? Hated that signing when it happened, hate it more now. |

| Re: Do or Die for NY Mets Well, the Mets responded and came away with a 13-0 win over Florida. According to the Associated Press, "John Maine flirted with the first no-hitter in Mets history before allowing an infield single to Paul Hoover with two outs in the eighth inning, and New York snapped out of its September doldrums by routing the Florida Marlins 13-0 in a fight-filled game Saturday... Maine finished with 14 strikeouts, the most by a Mets pitcher in eight years." MLB - Florida Marlins/New York Mets Recap Saturday September 29, 2007 - Yahoo! Sports

| Re: Do or Die for NY Mets Listening to some of the game on the radio. Whenever a Mets pitcher has a no-hitter through two innings, Mets fans get antsy. Taking it through two outs in the 7th was great. The Mets offense showed up and Maine had the best game of his career (career best 14 strikeouts). During the game, I heard Miguel Olivo charged at Jose Reyes at 3rd base and took a swing at Reyes but hit Sandy Alomar Sr....huh? lol The Phillies are losing 2-0 in the 7th.... |

| Re: Do or Die for NY Mets Mets win HUGE and Phily is losing 4-1 in the 8th right now. So looks like this will be decided on the last day, perhaps beyond if both lose or both win there will be a one game playoff. |
