Brian Bannister

He is making his fourth major league start tonight against San Diego.

He looks like a decent pitcher considering he has 2 wins and an ERA well under three. Bannister really needs to focus on his BBs, but his SOs are fine for now.

Check out his game log at http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/stats/individual_player_gamebygamelog.jsp?playerID=44645 4&statType=2

Do you think he will become a top pitcher in the MLB at some point in his career?

Re: Brian Bannister

Top pitcher as in an ace of a staff, no. I do think he can be a good #2 or at best, a very good #3 pitcher in a rotation. He has a good head on his shoulders and has had success in the minors so he's no stranger to that. However, he's got to adapt to the majors game as he seems to tire out quickly by the 5th or 6th innings. And ofcourse, lower the BB's...though he still doesn't give up many runs.
