Carlos Delgado will miss one week's worth of action due to a strained right hip flexor. He sustained it last night and was removed from the game (after he tried playing through it). He missed today's game and is expected to be out for at least one week.

Shawn Green should see the majority of playing time at first base in Delgado's absence.

What ever happen to Green...lost power a few years ago and now he doesn't even get ten dingers in a year?...and to think he was once a 30-30 guy and hgot 49 dingers while playing in LA...anyone think he was on the juice?

Green just lost his power in recent years. He should get 10 homers this year.

His prime power years were from age 25-29. In recent years, he's turned more into a singles hitter. He even has 10 stolen bases this year.

He's older now and doesn't need to carry the line-up like he did in Toronto and LA. Here's a quote from Green from the Daily News...

“I've come to accept the fact I'm not going to hit 40 home runs anymore…I feel like I slipped into a different type of production. It's more a swing guy who can play right field, first base. It's a different role. However I can contribute is going to feel good. I've accepted the fact I'm not one of the guys in the middle of the lineup that needs to carry the team anymore. Here we've got plenty of those guys. My goal each day is to find a way to help the team win.”
