Re: Pedro Martinez Returns in Cincinnati First inning is over and Pedro gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He started out slow (fastball at about 83) but by the end of the inning was getting the heater up to 89. Definitely looked like he was feeling himself out in the first. Let's see how he does in the following innings.

Re: Pedro Martinez Returns in Cincinnati Pedro Martinez just joined the 3,000 strikeout mark for pitchers. He struck out Scott Hatteberg and then Aaron Harang to earn the milestone. It was a 1-2-3 bottom of the second inning. Reds lead by 1.

Re: Pedro Martinez Returns in Cincinnati Going to the bottom of the 4th, the Mets lead 4-2. (David Wright hit a two run home run in the 3rd and then Paul Lo Duca sac flied Alou home) Pedro had a quick 1-2-3 inning in the 3rd against the top of Reds line-up. A grounder and two fly outs. He's retired 8 straight.

Re: Pedro Martinez Returns in Cincinnati Pedro walked Adam Dunn with one out, then Javier Valentin lined out. With a full count, Hatteberg lined up the middle and Beltran booted it which allowed Dunn to score. He walked Encarnacion to pitch to Harang who is up now. Mets lead 4-3 with two men on and two outs in the 4th.

Re: Pedro Martinez Returns in Cincinnati Josh Hamilton got a base hit. Gonzalez struck out but Griffey walked. Pedro is using a ton of pitches against Brandon Phillips. This is likely his last inning. Phillips flew out to right field and Hamilton moves over to third. Pedro has thrown 75 pitches but is sticking in to pitch to Adam Dunn with two outs.

Re: Pedro Martinez Returns in Cincinnati Pedro gets Dunn to ground out on one pitch. Pedro leaves the 5th inning with a 4-3 lead. He's probably out after throwing 76 pitches, Scott Schoeneweis was warming up. Pedro looked pretty good when he settled in after the first inning.
