With Damion Easley likely out for the rest of the regular season, the Mets went out and traded for veteran 1B Jeff Conine today. They traded single-A OF Sean Henry and SS Jose Castro to the Cincinnati Reds.

Conine will turn 42-years old next month and is a proven bat in the post-season. He also has two world series rings, both with the Florida Marlins.

Great acquisition who should get some playing time at 1B and perhaps a corner outfield spot.

should be a decent pinch-hitter, though hes been leaning towards retirement after this season..
