-Carlos Delgado hyperextended his left knee running out a ground ball last night. He played late into the game but left in the 7th inning. Willie Randolph said there was no swelling but it was sore, so they took him out. Delgado is not expected to play today and should return over the weekend against the Nationals. Shawn Green will start at 1B tonight in Pittsburgh (the Mets hope to sweep).
-Pedro Martinez will start on Monday in St. Lucie (Single-A). It will be his third start. With the big league Mets off on Monday, pitching coach Rick Peterson expects to be there in person for the start. If the plan is steady, Pedro would make one more minor league start (in Double-A or Triple-A) before rejoining the New York Mets, the last week of August.
-Endy Chavez (yep, he's still alive

) is playing his first rehab game later today in the Gulf Coast League. He's been on the DL since early June with a strained hammy.
