Lo Duca to DL, Castro Hurt?

The Mets placed Paul Lo Duca on the 15-day DL yesterday due to a strained right hammy. Lo Duca wasn't happy but it doesn't matter much, he aggravated the injury on Saturday's game, running the basepaths.

The team brought up Mike DiFilece...who yesterday through out a runner straying too far from third base, Cody Ross I believe. He has no bat, but the guy can back it up behind the plate.

Ramon Castro is believed to have some arthritis in his back and he will see if he can go today. If not, the team may be forced to call up Sandy Alomar Jr., which is not an enticing option at all.

Re: Lo Duca to DL, Castro Hurt?

I don't think they will be making any moves. They feel Castro/DiFiliece (and if necessary, Alomar Jr.) can do a decent job in the mean time. They will jsut need to rely on the other 7 batters to produce more (if Castro is out for a few days).
