Mets Lose Three Straight

The Mets are in a bit of a slump, losing their last three games (1 to Atlanta, 2 to Florida). Two nights ago, Billy Wagner blew a save when Hanley Ramirez belted a double over Carlos Beltran's head.

Last night, the Mets pen blew a lead but they came back. Then the pen once again gave up the lead and Carlos Beltran ended the game by swinging through a nasty slider from Marlins closer Kevin Gregg.

The Mets will play the Marlins once again later today, hoping not to get swept.

In good news, the Phillies and Braves have swapped wins/losses the past couple of days so the Mets aren't desperately losing ground in the division. They still have a 3.5 game lead over Atlanta.

Re: Mets Lose Three Straight

Mets fans have to be concerned. They have no stopper in the rotation, Wagner in a big spot makes people nervous, and they are getting nothing from lots of the regulars in the lineup. braves and Phillies have much better hitting lineups, but the Phillies have even worse pitching. Braves are a real threat now, and as usual, the Mets can't beat them head to head.

Re: Mets Lose Three Straight

The thing I'm most worried about with the Mets is the offense...they just aren't up to their abilities this season. It seems Wright is the only legit 100% threat. Reyes is great but he pops up (and hits flies) way too often.

I'm not so worried about Wagner (only 2 BS this year) but the pen will give me something to worry about.
