Tom Glavine has kept the door open for another season with the Mets, and another year of long workouts, cross-country flights and hotel rooms. Glavine earned his 300th victory last night, but considering the run support he's received this season, he should have already passed the milestone. That tells his father, Fred, that his future Hall-of-Fame son is still pitching well, which could be the lure for another season. "There's a lot to this job that only he sees,'' Fred Glavine said. "There's the hard work, being away from his kids, the time alone. "We will talk about that after the season. I would like to see him come back for another year, but I won't advise him on what to do.
