I haven't been as excited about the 07 Trade Deadline as in past years for the reason that I don't think the Mets will be pulling any moves. Not one...although it wouldn't surprise me to see them pull a little move for a reliever or something along those lines.
However, this is the deadline so here are the guys they've been linked to by rumors and reports.
-Recently they've been linked towards being interested in Oakland's Joe Blanton and Chicago's John Garland. However, in both cases both teams have asked for too much (according to reports) and the Mets aren't in that great a need for a starter.
-As far as relievers go, they were probably most linked to Washington's Chad Cordero and Jon Rauch. However, once again, Washington has asked for too much.
-The only bats routinely linked to the Mets have been second basemen from Minnesota (Luis Castillo) and Kansas City (Mark Grudzielanek), however both guys have big contracts and are...well, old. It still doesn't mean the Mets won't be interested in August when waivers come into play.
With that said, it just doesn't seem like the Mets will be making any big moves, or any at all. Rumors have surfaced that they are now willing to move Mike Pelfrey in the right deal, but it won't be for a marginal player. And Lastings Milledge seems to be untouchable (unless a guy like a Johan Santana or Carl Crawford comes into play

).
