With the pitching victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday night, Tom Glavine reached the 299 career win mark. He pitched six innings, allowed three runs (8 hits, 3 walks, 2 strike outs) before letting the bullpen handle the rest of the Buccos.

Glavine will next pitch on Tuesday evening in Milwaukee against the first place Brew Crew. I think his following start would either be on August 4th or 5th (Sat. or Sun.) at Wrigley.

Sadly, it doesn't look like he'll be home at Shea when he makes history.

Great win for the Mets even though it was against a near minor league team. Anyone notice the bats starting to produce since HoJo took over as batting coach? Maybe it's just quality of opposition but this bears monitoring. )
