| El Duque outpitches Peavy Good show last night by Mets pitcher Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez. According to the Associated Press, "El Duque and relievers Pedro Feliciano and Guillermo Mota combined on a three-hitter. Hernandez also singled, stole second and scored for the NL East-leading Mets... Hernandez is the first big league pitcher to steal bases in consecutive starts since the Mets' Tom Seaver May 17 and 22, 1967, against Atlanta and Los Angeles, according to the Elias Sports Bureau."

| Re: El Duque outpitches Peavy This was a huge win for the Mets. Jose Valentin came out of his slump to drive El Duque home after his stolen base. And the bats woke up...against Peavy of all people. |
