Boy is this Scott Schoeneweis ever having a tough season or what? In Tuesday's game against the Cardinals, the Mets fans booed him as he came onto the field, and then he promptly surrendered the game winning home run to a St. Louis rookie. Afterwards, he had some rather interesting comments: "“My mom could be up there right now and hit a home run, pretty much... Let’s go so I can go home and kill myself." Wow. How in the world do you bring a pitcher back mentally from THAT?

It just goes to show you, good middle relievers are a year to year type of deal. You see it all the time, a middle reliever has a solid year, then sign a big contract, and then the flop --Schoenweis, Bradford, Vizcaino....
