| Glavine FINALLY Wins 296th Game Tom Glavine ended a month-plus long winless streak Friday evening when he led the Mets to a 9-1 defeat of the Oakland Athletics. He lasted 8 complete innings, was taken out after allowing a base hit in the 9th and left the field to a rousing standing applause from the Shea faithful. The Braves also won on Friday night so the Mets division lead remains at 2.      |
