Oliver Perez vs. Tim Lincecum

Two great young pitchers started against each other in New York earlier tonight as the San Fran Giants came to town against the Mets.

Perez gave up two solo dingers in the first but got the next 12 batters out afterwards.

Lincecum didn't allow a base runner until he walked Carlos Beltran in the fourth and then allowed a big two run home run by Carlos Delgado. And just now in the sixth, Jose Reyes scored on a Beltran double. The Mets lead 3-2 now.

Lincecum struck out 7 so far and has only allowed 3 hits.

Perez struck out 6 so far and has allowed 3 hits as well.

Carlos Beltran is totally hot! He rocks! I like to watch him run from first to second when he takes the base (steals it? right?). Anyway, totally hot!
