Friday nights game saw Joe Smith strike out Derek Jeter looking, then Billy Wagner get the save. So naturally when Wagner was approached by reporters, they asked about his save...

Nope, they asked about Joe Smith....and Wagner offered a comedic response.

“Oh my God! If anyone asks me one more damn question about Joe Smith I’m gonna @%&#’n die. Are you kidding me? He faced one damn guy…

“No, Joe has done everything you want him to do. I mean, the kid is just, he comes out there, he’s poised, I mean, he’s just, he’s really done great. It’s been even better to see him have a tough game. A lot times you have that tough game, you start questioning yourself as a young player - and he’s really been put in some tough roles. I mean, you come in, and you’re playing the Yankees, and the first guy you have to face is Derek Jeter, the captain. I mean, you know, the kid did well.”

Wagner is one funny guy

I like Wagner...he's the product of a screwed up childhood...he made himself what he is...worked out for it...I think naturally he is going to have an edge about him.

I like him too. He was shaky last year adjusting to the NY pressure but it looks like now he's a great reliever and a true asset to the Mets...just don't bring up that play to the plate today in the 9th. Ugh!
