He isn't that old.

But, do you think he'll be better than Julio Franco?

Ahhh my friend, he will be 49 on 12/25 of this year so I'm thinking he is 48 now. Last night Franco proved that his reaction time is too slow. It is hard to tell for sure if he'll be better or worse than Franco but ... my opinion is that age 48 all of your reflexes have slowed down except the ones in your mind. I'm always happy to be wrong in these cases but more often than not these guys really are much slower than they think and even if they have a good game the recovery time is longer.

At least he isn't over the hill...

Franco did well, except on the third strike last night!

Re: Mets vs. Yankees Subway Series May 20 LIVE CHAT

Damon has been healing since he signed with the Yankees-the best non-move ever by Boston was jettisoning him.
The Mets should beat the Braves by about 15 games by the time the year is out. Watching them against the Red Sox, they looked like a minor league team.
And why would anybody throw a fastball to Jose Ryeyes? He cannot hit offspeed stuff to save his life.

I don't think he's that good at batting. His speed is stellar, though.

For an example, did you see his whiff last night?
