The 2007 Subway Series kicks off tomorrow evening at Shea Stadium when the New York Yankees take the train to Flushing to meet the Mets. The Yanks are not playing to the best of their abilities while the Mets have won four of their last five. If the Yanks lose today's game in Chicago, they would have lost three of their last five games.

The pitching match-up for Game 1 will be Andy Pettite against Oliver Perez.

Game 1 was a great one. Oliver Perez went into the 8th inning and only allowed two runs on a two run homer by Hideki Matsui in the fourth inning. The Mets had the early 1-0 lead until then. Endy Chavez hit the go ahead two run homer in the 5th to make it 3-2 and it stayed the course.

The Mets relieved Perez in the 8th with one out with rookie Joe Smith who got Derek Jeter looking on strike three. In the 9th, Billy Wagner got the save for the Mets victory.

First time this season Oliver Perez has looked great in back-to-back outings.

I'm not sure who the Yanks are throwing out there tomorrow but Tom Glavine is going for the Mets.
