Alou, El Duque and Valentin Hurt

Over the past couple of days, the Mets have seemingly had to deal with one major injury after another.

Jose Valentin was placed on the DL before yesterday's game with a partially torn ACL. El Duque was also placed on the DL with bursitis in his right shoulder. Both players are on the 15-day DL although they aren't expected back soon.

2B Ruben Gotay was called up yesterday and pinch hit in the loss to the Marlins. Chan Ho Park was also called up and got the start yesterday but was awful. Unless he's given a second chance, expect Jorge Sosa to get the call. Sosa has been dominant so far in AAA this year.

As for Alou, he jammed it during last night's game while going for a fly. He ran into the wall and was pulled out of the game. He's going for an MRI today and more will be known afterwards.

Out of the two, I think Chan Ho Park is better than Jorge Sosa.

I agree but both options are horrible.

Are there any good free-agents available?

Milledge for Willis?

Trade has potential last season, but Milledge's value went down.

Re: Alou, El Duque and Valentin Hurt

Omar Minaya spoke to the media before the game tonight and said El Duque will miss at least another two starts...in addition to the two he's already missed.
