Mets' Little League Quality Starting Pitching

Very worried about the early signs of the Mets starting pitching. They started out a house of fire but now they have absolutely no command of their pitches. Is it the cold? What the hell is going on? All they do is walk runners around the bases forcing in runs. Tom Glavine just did it! Tom Freakin' Glavine!!! How great can starters be if they can't even throw the damn ball over the plate?

Tom Glavine will get 300 and then walk away.

Case closed, no questions asked.

But John Maine has a whole career and torment awaiting. Why must he have dispicable starts at such a young age?

Even though he forgot about Maine, he has a point, but I wouldnt call it little league quality though, they are here for some reason and your GM and Randolph would have not put them as starters if they couldnt pitch, look its early in the season and that team are going to get better, just caaaaalm dooooooooown, believe in your team will make up for those mistakes early and will be a formidable rotation, it has possiblities it just takes time, believe in your team, you gotta believe....

Re: Mets' Little League Quality Starting Pitching

Don't jump the gun there Nuke. They had an outstanding first go around the rotation and now it's been a bit bumpy. Whether it's the horrible weather or just poor personal pitching, who knows. But I still like the rotation and have some faith in Maine and Perez...not to mention the keen vets El Duque and Glavine. Pelfrey shows some signs of a great pitcher and then runs into some trouble as most young guys do.

But the Mets bullpen and offense is good enough to pick up the starters if need be.

Re: Mets' Little League Quality Starting Pitching

Been on vacation visiting my uncle in Montreal,Canada. Man it's so clean there! Saw a Canadiens game as well. Then I come back last week and hear about some racist shock jock and a mass shooting. My uncle has it great living in the great white north. And John Maine is another walker. I despise pitchers who surrender runs because they merry go round the bases unable to put a ball in the strike zone.

Cool Re: Mets' Little League Quality Starting Pitching

Don't worry Nuke. Even with the shaky pitching, the Mets are still winning. Minaya will use Milledge and eventually get a top-line pitcher like Oswalt.

Dontrelle Willis would put us in the NLCS again. What were they asking for them again? Ironically they face Willis tonight!

Re: Mets' Little League Quality Starting Pitching

They've been talking about how they are having a hard time gripping the ball in the cold on WFAN all week. I think we just need to wait it out a bit and let the weather warm up and see. Hopefully it will even out. If not, I have faith that Omar will figure out a nice fix and until then, it's not like we're losing!
