Mets 2007 Home Opener

The Mets open their home season at Shea Stadium later this afternoon. As a matter of fact, I believe it's their last day game for quite some time. John Maine (1-0, 0.00) will start for the Mets at home for the first time since Game 6 of the NLCS when he won. Cole Hamels will make his season debut for the Phillies.

It should be a raucus crowd as well, I'm looking forward to it.

Cole Hamels' changeup is amazing. Got Reyes and Beltran swinging.

Re: Mets 2007 Home Opener

John Maine was finally pulled, after giving up 2 runs in four innings and a lot of walks. This was not one of his better appearances on the mound, and I would expect better during his next start.

Chase Utley is a Monster!

Re: Mets 2007 Home Opener

The Mets came back in the 8th to win, 11-5. Amazing collapse by the Phillies bullpen.

Geoffry (sp?) couldn't find the strikezone at all in the inning. Then they bring in John Leiber to get smacked around. LOL.

Re: Mets 2007 Home Opener

Jon Lieber got smacked around with the Yankees. I recall that he had an impressive start last season, but now he is back to his old ways.

Shawn Green+Moises Alou do well together.
