Great Pedro Martinez Interview

Saw this from the Boston Herald and it's a great read.

Pedro: It’s not over yet -- Former ace talks rehab, Matsuzaka and all things Sox

In it, he talks about whether Boston made a good decision in not signing him two years ago. His rehab, the current New York Mets and Daisuke Matsuzaka are other topics.

He is a great sports personality, without a doubt.

Re: Great Pedro Martinez Interview

The Mets starting pitching scares the stuffing out of me as a Met fan. One could almost say a week and a half before they play their first game that this team can't win a World Series with this rotation.

I don't share that sense of fear. As it stands now: Glavine, El Duque, Maine, Perez and Pelfrey.

They have plenty of guys on reserve who would be able to pitch if Duque had to go on the DL.

Plus, they have the offense that can score runs when need be.

Well usually an offense can carry a team in the early part of the season which is good cuz it'll give Duque and Pedro time to heal but late in the season you need that pitching. Just look at the Yankees of last year for that vs. the Tigers and how crappy the White Sox were also.

I'm confident in Omar that somewhere during the season he'll find someone to bring on over. That's one of the reasons why I wasn't strongly upset with the fact he didn't fork over the obsessive cash on a free-agent starter. He can wait until the Summer and trade for one.
