John Delcos gives a suggestion in his latest
blog entry, about what the Mets should do considering the rotation. We're now two weeks from the start of the season. El Duque is not 100% (as a matter of fact, he was pulled from a game earlier today as a precautionary measure after developing a cramp...he pitched a bullpen session afterwards though) and the Mets won't need a 5th starter until mid-April.
Delcos suggests the Mets just bring Mike Pelfrey along as the 4th starter and either add another bullpen arm or a position player as the 25th man. Doing so will allow Pelfrey to get some innings and allow El Duque to rest up for an extra two weeks.
Seems like a great idea to me.
