EmpireWF is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Mets All Time best Team

c'mon, there's no DH

Piazza would certainly be the best Catcher in Mets history...even though Carter won the Series

Where's Lee Mazzilli. and Dave Kingman ...Staub was cool...I'd take Nolan Ryan over Craig Swan any day though...and I hated Harrelson for his fight against Pete Rose, surley Kaz Matsui is better???

Cool Re: Mets All Time best Team

Empire: Piazza was their best hitting catcher - but he was such a defensive liability. He can't even reach 2nd base on a fly. So based on what Carter meant to them as a leader, I'd give the slight edge to him.

Gotham: Nolan Ryan was not an all time great Met. I tried to do it based on how that guy played when he was a Met. Otherwise, I would put in Jeff Kent over Felix Millan and I'm sure there are others.

Dude ...Swan was 59-71! for the Mets, Ryan was 29-38, but with a lower ERA, and a better K/IP ratio and was part of the 1969 team...given that, I'd still take Nolan.

Gotham: I don't think you can just look at stats when it comes to Swan. He pitched on some awful Met teams of the 70's. He pitched a ton of innings and won the ERA title 1 year. Maybe Jon Matlack or Ron Darling should be on the list instead. Definitely not Ryan.

I'd even take Sid Fernandez over Swan...and its not like Seaver played on a lot of great Mets team...but like any good pitcher, he found a way to win...Swan didn't... Everything else being equal I'd take my chances in a game with a young Ryan over vintage Swan any day...

Talking Re: Mets All Time best Team

Ryan didn't pitch enough for the Mets to be included. Doesn't matter how great he was in his entire career, as a Met, he just didn't pitch enough. I would be thinking long and hard for Ron Darling. Very underrated and he was a winner.

By the way - IF you wanted to include any player who ever wore a Mets uniform you'd have Gil Hodges at first and Willie Mays in center. But, like Ryan, they didn't have their greatest years (or ANY great years for that matter) as a Metropolitan.
