The NY Post reports RHP Dave Williams will be out of action until May after recovering from surgery to repair a herniated disc in his neck.

Another hit to the Mets pitching plans as Williams was expected to be either a potential candidate for the starting rotation or at least the long-man out of the pen.

Bad news. The Mets seem to be cobbling together a pitching staff out of injured and old players and I wonder how far that's gonna get them in 2007.
