Well, it may just be that the Victor Zambrano era of the Mets has passed. The Mets did not tender him a contract last night, making him a free agent. Local reports still say the team may sign him to a new deal although that's not certain at this point.

The Mets did tender contracts to Endy Chavez, Ramon Castro, Duaner Sanchez and Oliver Perez. They also signed Dave Williams to a new one-year deal according to MetsBlog as well.

Smart move to let Zambrano go. He was a bust from the get go and cost the Mets a lot apparently. That was a trade seemingly only Isiah Thomas would make!
