I may believe that if it wasn't for the fact that all signs point to Zito wanting to come to New York. Much like A-Rod with Texas, he (after the fact) said he wanted to play in New York but took the money and went to Texas (a terrible situation). Don't think for a second the thought process isn't running through Zito's mind.

I agree Merv that no way Andy Pettite deserves that kind of cash. Imagine how screwed the Yankees would be if there was a salary cap?

If a salary cap was imposed the yankees would be the first to go from 1st to worst. But that is another topic

Zito seems to not being doing much along the lines of visiting teams and such but he will still get every cent that he wants in the end. Zito will never be in a position where he will have to lower his standards in order to find a team to take him.

I know Zito is bordering on great and give him all the credit in the world but he shouldn't be the highest paid pitcher in baseball because he's not of that status.

No way the Mets get Barry Zito. I guarantee it. It shouldn't even be spoken about with that leech of an agent representing him.

You may not like Boras but he is the agent of ones Carlos Beltran, Oliver Perez and Mike Pelfrey.

Re: Mets Chances on Zito Improve

Boras represents Pelfry, too?

His competitors should file an investigation with the government, because Boras may be monopolizing the Sports Agents' industry. And if you weren't aware, monopolies are illegal and unlawful.

I'm sure there are other Agents and Agencies who have just as many clients as he does.

Re: Mets Chances on Zito Improve

All I know is if I was a MLB player, I'd want Boras as my agent.
