A great post at MetsBlog discussing the top position prospects in the Mets system, outfielders Carlos Gomez and Fernando Martinez.

Martinez is only 18-years old and is already playing well in the Arizona Fall League which has impressed the heck out of scouts across the game. He's said to be an "elite hitting prospect" according to Baseball America.

Gomez is 20 and is said to have tremendous speed (he stole a combined 105 bases in 05 and 06 in A and AA ball respectively) and a great glove in center. The power is expected to come and he needs to learn the strike zone more effectively.

Both, many believe, have higher ceilings than Lastings Milledge and could very well turn out to be better Major Leaguers when it's all said and done.
