In a surprising move, the Daily News reports the Mets and Jose Valentin have come to terms on a 1-year deal believed to be around $3 Million. The deal is pending on a physical.

Interesting move because you figure he signed to start and the Mets are hoping he can produce like he did last year. They will still target another 2B for the bench since it seems Chris Woodward won't be back.
