That's the latest rumor around New York. From MetsBlog and HotFoot, the rumor says an announcement on the new Mets Stadium name will be made on Monday. That hasn't been confirmed by the team however. The ground breaking ceremony is on Monday (local politicians and some players will be there in a private ceremony) and one person informed HotFoot that they saw a sign saying "CitiField: Coming in 2009."

Take it for what it is at the moment, a rumor.

It's not a terrible name, but it's not the best name either.

C'mon now, what's wrong with Shea? It is a memorial to the guy who brought a second franchise back to New York afterall.

I always thought it would've been cool if Apple had bought the naming rights. Come down to Big Apple Stadium...lol
