| Mets Off-Season Rumors Here are some of the latest rumors surrounding the Mets and interesting notes regarding their off-season. These are all straight from MLBTradeRumors. -Tom Glavine is prepared to sign with the Atlanta Braves. A "handshake agreement" is in place. (Remember, the Mets and Glavine agreed if it wasn't mutual, they wouldn't pick up his hefty option...meaning if he wants to return to Atlanta, they will let him) -The Mets will go after Barry Zito and/or Mark Mulder. (I haven't heard any interest in Mulder but I'm sure he'll come cheaper than Zito. Also, the Mets could be interested in that Japanese pitcher everyone's talking about) -Steve Trachsel is not coming back and Orlando Hernandez may re-sign. -The Mets are "seriously considering" sending Aaron Heilman back to the rotation in 2007. They would try to re-sign Guillermo Mota and expect to lose Darren Oliver who may ask for too much money. -The Mets still like Lastings Milledge and would only trade him for Dontrelle Willis (I doubt he's available this off-season). Alfonso Soriano is not a target. -The Mets will likely look to acquire a 2B via trade. Jose Valentin isn't expected back and the only in-house options are Ruben Gotay and Anderson Hernandez. Some interesting notes. These are all coming from MLB Trade Rumors' Mets sources so make of it what you will. I can see the Mets trying to put Heilman back in the rotation only because of the lack of bodies immediately. I doubt Philip Humber and Mike Pelfrey are ready for the beginning of 2007. |

| Re: Mets Off-Season Rumors im not sure that Dontrelle will ever become available. With all the dumping by Florida's owner they need someone to build a team around and i think Dontrelle is the only reason that Florida still has have the small amount of fans that it does. |
