Game 1 of the 2006 NLCS begins tomorrow night at 8pm eastern at Shea Stadium in Flushing Queens. Jeff Weaver starts for the Cards while veteran Tom Glavine goes for the Mets. This game should set the pace for the rest of the series. Weaver had a great outing in the NLDS, going 5 IP of shut out ball. Glavine went 6 IP with a shut out in the NLDS too. Can Weaver do it in New York? The same place where he was chased from not too long ago.
Something to look for...how the Mets pitch to Albert Pujols. Without question, they'll try and avoid him at all costs. If the Cards can force the Mets to pitch to him, it may be a long series.
Also something to look for, expect the Mets to try to work counts and in an attempt to get into the Cardinals' bullpen ASAP. It's one of the weakest points of their ball-club.
