Cliff Floyd WILL PLAY in NLCS

Cliff Floyd's achilles injury will likely cause him to miss the NLCS. Depending on how the doctor's reports go, the chances he will be able to play are minimal. The NLCS Roster doesn't have to be set until Wednesday morning so Willie Randolph has time to check on his options.

The expected move will be to add Lastings Milledge to the post-season roster. He will add a righty bat to the bench and some fast legs for late-inning possibilities.

I doubt he sees a start although you never know.

Maybe so but in the NLDS, he was 4-9 with 1 HR, 2 RBI, 3 R. His bat was starting to get hot.

The NLCS roster has been finalized and Cliff Floyd is on it! Also added is 2B Andeson Hernandez in place of LHP Royce Ring.

Yes but how effective will he be because he's nursing an injury?

Re: Cliff Floyd WILL PLAY in NLCS

Floyd had one at-bat ( a fly out) last night and re-injured his achilles heel. I don't think having him on the LCS roster was a smart move for the Mets... They need all the pitching they can get, I would've taken another reliever. Chavez plays better defense, hits for a higher average, and runs better then Floyd does, so I don't understand why Randolph insisted on having Floyd in the lineup for Game 1.

Floyd the barber and Raymond Floyd the golfer could be on the roster and the Cardinals couldn't win this thing. Not to mention Pink Floyd. As a Yankee fan, when I see these God awful National League clubs it makes me want to puke.

Re: Cliff Floyd WILL PLAY in NLCS

Well I assume Floyd made it on the roster for sentimental purposes but it's too late to argue about it now. I doubt he can start another game this series and at most, he'll act as a pinch hitter. Even then, I don't know if he'll be able to play. Either way, Chavez has been a great player for us this year. But it will weaken the bench a bit.

Now watch - an NL club is going to win it all, just because you said that!

Yeah, when the ALCS is over, the World Series will be over as well.

Makes for one boring World Series, though...

Re: Cliff Floyd WILL PLAY in NLCS

Just an update on Floyd. He will be available to pinch hit starting in Game 5 and may even be able to get a start if the series goes back to New York.
