The Mets took the first game of the best of three series by a score of 6-5. It was an exciting game and saw some exciting plays. JD Drew and Jeff Kent were both thrown out at the plate on the same play in the 2nd inning. The Dodgers nearly came back but Billy Wagner earned his first career post-season save by striking out Nomar Garciaparra.

Game two will be Thursday night on FOX and will pit Dodgers LHP Hong-Chih Kuo against Mets LHP Tom Glavine. The Mets had trouble against Kuo late in the season so we'll see how the offense can do against him in October.

The Dodgers folded like a cheap suit last night. I hope they show up in LA. And how about Maddux stretching himself and not taking himself out of the game after his usual 30 pitches?
