| Mets Offense Picks Up Against Nationals The Mets haven't scored five runs or better since last Wednesday when they beat the Marlins in Florida, 7-4. Earlier today, they scored 12 runs against the Nationals. It's a good sign to finally see the offense pick up and put a plethora of runs on the board. Jose Reyes and David Wright each had three hits. Wright had a big three run home run and his fifth triple of the year. Chris Woodward and Lastings Milledge each had some big hits during the game. Paul Lo Duca hit his fifth home run of the year. Carlos Delgado got the day off and Carlos Beltran did not play again (he's getting rest for his right quad). For some great coverage of the game, check out MetsBlog's reaction. |

| Re: Mets Offense Picks Up Against Nationals Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, MetsBlog.Com is closed for maintenence. The Mets don't really need to get anymore wins since they clinched their division. David Wright looks like a regular out there until the post-season but I can understand that they give Carlos Delgado and Beltran a rest. Jose Reyes and David Wright have been unbelievable this year. Reyes has been racking up the hits as Wright brings in the runs. Neither of them is a top contender for the NL MVP Award, but they have definitely impacted the Mets this year to play a solid season. |
