Amazing Carlos Beltran Catch

Did anyone see the amazing, game saving catch by Carlos Beltran tonight against the Astros?

With two runners on, the Mets leading by two with Wagner on the mound, Lance Berkman hit a deep fly to center when Carlos jumped and made the catch. The Mets went on the win the game. However Beltran's spikes got caught in the chain-linked fence and he left the game due to an apparent knee injury. He looked like he was in a lot of pain but he was able to walk off the field and under his own power, to the clubhouse. He was walking with a limp though.

Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Re: Amazing Carlos Beltran Catch

It was an incredible catch!

There hasn't been any news posted about Carlos Beltran recently regarding the injury. I think he is undergoing examinations and we should find out tomorrow. It won't be in the New York Times or The Post since it was a night game. I hate that stuff!

Re: Amazing Carlos Beltran Catch

Thankfully he only sprained his knee (x-rays negative) and is listed as day-to-day. He'll probably miss a couple to several games before returning to action.

Re: Amazing Carlos Beltran Catch

I'd give him as much time as he needs to fully recover from his injury. There is no need to rush him back into action since the Mets have such a significant lead in the NL East Division.
