We may think of Stephon Marbury as a selfish but talented 2-guard in the NBA but he seems like a good person off it. As his story is well known, coming from Coney Island and living on welfare along with his siblings and mother, he came from literally nothing. Basketball helped him succeed and he went to Lincoln High School, Georgia Tech and then the NBA.

He's started a new line of clothes and shoes. The price of these should probably cost in the hundreds, but they won't. His shoes will cost kids and parents just $14.99.

He's a cool cat afterall.

A classic story of "rags to riches" centered around Knicks' guard, Stephon Marbury. $14.99 is a decent price everywhere for shoes, since mine cost at least $40 (the cheapest at Foot Locker). Marbury makes enough money a year to feed ten families so it is nice that he doesn't force parents to spend their monthly paychecks on a pair of rubber shoes.

Nice! I remember the big deal every made when Hakeem Olijawuon (sp?) did something like this, only he insisted that his shoes be no more than $80. $15 is a great deal, as long as the shoes are halfway decent.

I bet you that this price wasn't Starbury decision. He leaves this kind of decision-making to his financial management. All he does is license his name, which his agent probably does for him.
