Denver Forced to Trade Kenyon to Knicks?

I've seen a report stating that the Nuggets are so desperate to get rid of Kenyon Martin and his contract (about 5-years at $70 million) that they only possible way could be to trade him straight up for Stevie Francis (3-years at $50 million).

Knicks don't match Spurs' offer to Butler - Newsday.com

Quote:
If there's a major deal out there, it would have to be for Denver power forward Kenyon Martin. One NBA executive said the Nuggets are "desperate" to unload him and almost certainly could be forced to take Steve .Francis, who has three years worth $48.7 million left on his contract, if only because he costs so much less than Martin, who has five years left for $70.9 million.

But Martin is coming off microfracture knee surgery and was suspended by the Nuggets during the playoffs for behavioral problems. Denver asked for Frye in the past and likely would again, but the Knicks won't trade Frye.

Cool Re: Denver Forced to Trade Kenyon to Knicks?

That's all the Knicks need. 2 more years on their already ridiculous contract situation. They should be subtracting years and dollars - not adding. But Isiah's like Ralph Kramden. If you have something to sell, you sell it to him.

"But can Kenyon Martin core a apple?"

Re: Denver Forced to Trade Kenyon to Knicks?

This is probably what I fear most. Isiah knows his job is on the line and if he doesn't produce, he's fired (and who in their right mind would give him another job with some sort of power after this fiasco?!). So, in trying to save his job, he will likely do whatever he can as GM to "win now" and sacrifice the future. Then again, the Knicks future has been sacrificed since 2002 and hasn't stopped being sacrificed since...woe are knick fans

I bet you Martin ends up on the Knicks. They'd have to match the salary so maybe a guy like Quentin Richardson and throw in Jerome James (Believe it or not - James is making $30 million). Once again, as I've said before: This is the problem (one of them anyhow) with the NBA. You don't trade players anymore. You trade contracts.

Re: Denver Forced to Trade Kenyon to Knicks?

look id glady trade franchise for kenyon. Francis and marbury kill me atleast kenyon isnt a ball hog, might be a problem but i think its a better prob and i think till isiah is gone the knicks will never attempt to fix the salary cap issue
